A Collect for St Mary
Magdalene
Almighty God,
whose Son restored Mary Magdalene
to health of mind and body
and called her to be a witness to his resurrection:
forgive our sins and heal us by your grace,
that we may serve you in the power of his risen life;
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
A Collect for St Michael
and All Angels
Everlasting God,
you have ordained and constituted
the ministries of angels and mortals in a
wonderful order:
grant that as your holy angels always serve you in heaven,
so, at your command,
they may help and defend us on earth;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.
A Collect for the Season
of Trinity
(when this website was launched)
Almighty God,
you have made us for yourself,
and our hearts are restless till they find their rest
in you;
pour your love into our hearts and draw us to
yourself,
and so bring us at last to your heavenly city
where we shall see you face to face;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
A Prayer by C. N. R.
Wallwork
Eternal God,
you are surrounded by the light of heavenly splendour;
grant us so to celebrate
the truth of your gospel
that we may see your glory
in the face of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
A Prayer of Devotion to
God
(David Silk)
Eternal God, I am not my own but yours.
Take me for your own,
and help me in all things to do your holy will.
My God, I give myself to you,
in joy and in sorrow,
in sickness and in health,
in success and in failure,
in life and in death,
in time and for eternity.
Make me and keep me your own;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
A Prayer of Blessing
from the Mozarabic Sacramentary
May the infinite and glorious Trinity,
the Father , the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
direct our life in good works,
and after our journey through this world,
grant us eternal rest with the saints.
Amen.
Verses 30-31 from Psalm
18 in the Book of Common Prayer
The way of the Lord is an undefiled way:
the word of the Lord also is tried in the fire;
he is the defender of all them that put their trust in
him.
For who is God, but the Lord:
or who hath any strength, except our God?
