The
Parish of Woolwich supports a number of charities through regular financial giving.
Here we provide some information about these charities, to help you pray for
them and also to help you consider giving to them of your own time, talents,
and money. We feel that it is important to give to at least one local charity — and this is the Greenwich and Bexley
Cottage Hospice; one national missionary organisation — which is the United Society for the Propagation of
the Gospel; and one overseas Christian project to help those in need — presently, the Princess Basma Centre
for Disabled Children in Jerusalem. You can click on the links below to find
out more about each of these charities, either on the charity name (where you
will access info that we have put together) or on the website link (which will
link you to the charities own website).

We hope
that you find this information useful. If you would like to know more about
these projects or how to support them please contact either our Treasurers or
the Rector. We do support a number of other charities from time to time and if
you would like more information about these please contact our Treasurers. We
also review the charities we give to each year and we are happy to receive
suggestions concerning this.
In addition
to these charities, the Parish of Woolwich seeks to support the Bishop of Southwark’s Lent Call each year. To find out more about the projects that
the Lent Call is supporting this year click here.
“Give to everyone who begs from you; and of him who
takes away your goods do not ask them again. And as you wish that men would do
to you, do so to them.”
